Full course description
Thanksgiving. Traditions. Family. Friends. For all the nostalgia and warmth that these words evoke, we know that for some (maybe for many) they also bring anxiety and stress. There are things to get done. Conversations to be had…and conversations to be avoided. Amongst all the wonderful memories and wonder-filled opportunities, there is also the temptation to fill these days with lesser things…to forget all the simple-but-necessary lessons we learned when we were kids. Throughout this series, we will explore several of the most important of these ”lessons” (the lessons we learned at the “kids’ table”) to arrive at what the Bible commends as the beautiful, contented, gratitude-filled life of faith: that life that reflects Jesus, that life that is truly life. Refusing to merely shift into “survivor mode,” we will enter this season of holy days with hope, joy, and the expectation of God’s blessing and presence. More, we will learn how God wants to use us throughout this season to be agents of healing and hospitality – ambassadors of his Kingdom around every table at which we sit.
